Dave Douglas

Dave has had an extensive career in high-tech, managing innovation at small and large companies over several decades. Since 2005 his work has increasingly focused on how technology can help address our largest sustainability challenges.
Dave has a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from MIT and spent the early part of his career as an engineer and architect in high-performance computing. Since then, he has held numerous business and technology leadership roles in the computing industry and application of technology to many industries. Dave was a pioneer in cloud computing and an early Chief Sustainability Officer in the technology industry.
Dave is co-author of "Citizen Engineer,” a book that captures the core knowledge of sustainability and intellectual property that engineers will need in the 21st century. He is a partner at Applied Invention, Sr. Fellow at the Breakthrough Institute, on the board of Apeiron Labs, and on the advisory board of the Global CO2 Initiative at the University of Michigan.
